<p>To get your abs to show, you have to get rid of the fat around your waistline. No amount of crunches or other abdominal exercises will get your abs to show. However, it is recommended that you still incorporate ab workouts to your routine just for the sake of developing a strong core. To burn the fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume.</p>
<p>You should incorporate a cardio exercise into your routine. This could be a variety of exercises such as running, jump roping or using a stationary bike. These workouts should last about half an hour and should be done four to five times a week.</p>

The cardiovascular system is the heart and the many connected arteries and veins. Because the heart is a muscle like all the other muscles in the body, it needs exercise and with exercise becomes stronger, more fit and more efficient. Cardiovascular exercise not only helps the heart but also helps the entire cardiovascular system, other organs of the body and glands in your body.</p>
<p>Endurance exercises such as weight lifting are good for the body but because the weight lifting is brief, it doesn’t give the benefits that cardiovascular exercising can give. In addition, resistance exercise is also good and gives certain health benefits to the body; however, they don’t give the strength and efficiency to the body like cardiovascular exercising.</p>
<p>There are two types of cardiovascular exercising—low intensity and high intensity. If this kind of exercising is new to you, try the low intensity first. Both will burn off body fat but it is important to start of small; especially if this is new to you.</p>

Then, add muscle-strengthening exercises to your exercise routine such as yoga or weight-lifting. Strengthening your muscles will help to increase your muscle mass and that will boost your metabolism.</p>
<p>To help burn off calories, drink plenty of cool water. Water helps to flush out extra fat from the body and can also help you to eat less. By consuming fewer calories than what your body puts in, you will lose weight.</p>
