Six Pack Abs

Six Pack Abs

There is no “easy way” to achieve six-pack abs, but with a good training regimen, proper diet, and quality equipment, the desired goal can be attained.

A good regimen is imperative to obtaining a washboard stomach. Along with an abdominal plan, a balance of aerobic exercise to lower body fat and strength training to increase muscle mass is necessary. No amount of abdominal training will create the desired appearance if the stomach is covered in fat. However, too much aerobic exercise and a lack of strength training may cause the body to burn muscle instead of fat. In a proper combination, aerobic exercise will raise metabolism, and growing muscles will consume more body fat at a faster rate.

Proper diet also plays a huge role in achieving six-pack abs. A balanced, low-fat diet, broken up into several smaller meals will keep energy levels up without overburdening the body and causing a “rundown” feeling. A high water intake is also important.

While sit-ups and crunches will work, neither exercise isolates particular set of muscles, so more repetitions are needed to develop muscles groups that are not targeted directly. Furthermore, these exercises put the body in an unnatural position and can cause discomfort because neither supports the back during the range motion. Equipment that allows the user to sit in an upright position while targeting the upper, lower, or middle region of the abs individually will show better results sooner.

Although difficult, the resulting chiseled abs will be well worth the effort.
